from Umberto I bridge to the hill

Back !!!! --- First of all thank you very much about all your comments to wish me Happy Holidays that in fact I had. I took some photo too and I will publish some of them (weekly) on my other photoblog: ikol22.com (if anyone could be interested). Along the week I'll be back on your DP blogs too :-)) ---

This photo has been taken in a middle August evening (when sky doesn't become dark too quick in the evening) from the Umberto I bridge (corso Vittorio Emanuele II). The bridge has two statues each side that represent: Worth, Compassion, Art and Work (made by Giovanni Reduzzi). This one it seems to represent: Worth (I hope). In the background the hill and Monte dei Cappuccini.

Questa immagine è stata scattata una sera di metà Agosto (quando il cielo tarda a diventar scuro) dal ponte Umberto I (corso Vittorio Emanuele II). Il ponte consta di due statue ad ogni ingresso che rappresentano: Valore, Pietà, Arte e Industria (ad opera di Giovanni Reduzzi). Questa sembra voler rappresentare il Valore (almeno spero). Sullo sfondo la collina e il Monte dei Cappuccini.

Ponte Umberto I

An unusual light for a quite usual photo: a bridge a river and a hill. The bridge is the Umberto I bridge (that one with two statues at each entry cfr HERE), the river is called Po that longest one that cross West-East all north of Italy and the top of the hill there is Monte dei Cappuccini (scroll down) with the church Santa Maria del Monte

Una luce non usuale per una foto quasi usuale: un ponte e una collina. Il ponte è il ponte Umberto I (quello con due statue ad ogni ingressi), il fiume è il fiume Po, il più lungo che attraversa da Ovest verso Est tutto il nord Italia and la cima della collina è il Monte dei Cappuccini con la chiesa Santa Maria del Monte. Blue !!!!!!!!

Oh... I forgot the November Theme. I'm so sorry... However this is the photo I had in mind to publish until I remembered theme of this month. This is the Po river (see just yesterday post), taken from Umberto I bridge. At right Monte dei Cappuccini.

Oh... Ho dimenticato il tema di Novembre. Mi spiace tanto... Questa, comunque, è la foto che avevo in mente di pubblicare sino a che mi son ricordato del tema di questo mese. Questo è il fiume Po (cfr. giusto il post di ieri), preso dal ponte Umberto I. Sulla destra il Monte dei Cappuccini.

Torino in photo are also Bridges !!! The first one (foreground) is Umberto I bridge and the the second one is Vittorio Emanuele I bridge.

Torino in foto son anche i ponti !!! Il primo (in primo piano) è il ponte Umberto I mentre il secondo è il ponte Vittorio Emanuele I.

Galleria Umberto I

Built around 1890 by Lorenzo Rivetti, "Galleria Umberto I" was born where once there was Mauriziano's Hospital. Of course it comes out, another time, the Liberty style.

Costruita attorno al 1890 dall'architetto Lorenzo Rivetti la "Galleria Umberto I" nacque ove sorse la prima sede dell'Ospedale Mauriziano. Naturalmente spicca, ancora una volta, lo stile Liberty.

Reflections in blue

Murazzi Promenade

At left Ponte Umberto I at right the route to access to Murazzi del Po. To walk down along the river in a cold Winter afternoon while the city crazily live upstairs, it's romantic and calming.

Alla sinistra il Ponte Umberto I, alla destra la strada per accedere ai Murazzi del Po. Camminare lungo il fiume in un freddo pomeriggio invernale mentre la città, al di sopra, vive con frenesia, è romantico e rilassatnte.

Definitely. Torino is blue as you can see from this terrace at Royal Rowing club Cerea. The photo has been taken at blue time and shows Po river and Umberto I bridge. (Please enlarge the photo). --- Happy weekend to everyone.

At the Traffic Light

Last week I was waiting the green at the traffic light of corso Re Umberto (crossing corso Peschiera) when I saw this house on my left. I will take better those decorations just under the roof but at the moment it's funny to consider that I pass there everyday in centuries but only now I noticed it. Thanks to DP.

La scorsa settimana in attesa del verde al semaforo di corso Re Umberto all'incrocio con corso Peschiera vidi alla mia sinistra questa casa. Fotograferò meglio l'ornamento del sottotetto ma è curioso osservare com'io passi lì da secoli e solo ora mi sia accorto d'essa. Grazie a Daily Photo.

I was in hurry so I stop the car, get off quickly and quickly I've got a photo of this strange but beautiful, old building. More detail of it tomorrow ;-)
