La Pasta

If you enlarge the photo (that I have taken at Salone del Gusto in Torino), you can read "Pacchero Gragnano". "Pacchero" is the name of this kind of pasta, "Gragnano" is referred to the city of Gragnano a town just behind Castellammare di Stabia (between Torre Annunziata and Sorrento). I am talking of the "city of the pasta". The Gragnano pool (<--Link in English) keep high the quality of all pasta produced by local producers.

Stereotypes (mostly old cliché) want Italians just addicted to pizza, spaghetti and mandolini (with mafia). I can reassure that we eat also roasted chicken with salade listening Norah Jones (with mafia). LoL. But if you looking for the best Spaghetti in the world, you are in the right place. The photo, taken at Salone del Gusto in Torino shows a bouquet of spaghetti by Pastificio Faella (<---Link in English) in Gragnano since 1907 --- If you want to read some of most tasteful recipes -in English-, don't forget Aglio, Olio & Peperoncino Blog (<--Link). It is managed by my friend Eleonora that you know because she shows Roma Every Day (<--Link) in her blog in the CDP Community like Torino Daily Photo.

The photo taken at Eataly Torino shows... Truffles !!!! A detailed description about " truffle " HERE (<--- in English). This year they are less expensive than usual. As you can see: 250 € per 100 grams (=3.5 Ounce). These come from Alba and are the most popular but truffles in Italy are produced in Asti province (white and black) and in Molise Region.

Barocco Piemontese

In Torino you can sit and drink a cup of tea while 300 years of history stare at you. The photo shows in the background Palazzo Carignano built (1679-1684) by Guarino Guarini in pure Piedmontese Baroque style.

A room with a view

The photo doesn't come out from the E.M. Forster's novel neither we are in Florence but in Torino and that is the Mole Antonelliana (also popular because the National Museum of Cinema).

Art Nouveau

I've taken this photo on the corner between via Piffetti and via Beaumont. Via Piffetti has plenty of Art Nouveau, one of the most in Torino. If you enlarge it you can get lot of detail. The corner is an acute angle (less than 90 degree).

Theme day: graffiti

Of course Torino has plenty of graffiti. Some nice, most not. I love to publish this one again. I've taken the photo over the Olympic footbridge (in the background the Olympic Village) time ago. If you enlarge it you can read: "Principessa Ti Amo" = "Princess I love you". It's a love graffiti, a bit long and devastating but where love is concerned, we can forgive him --- Today is the Theme Day for City Daily Photo Community. To see how others partecipants around the world have interpreted today's theme, click HERE
