Via Po Perspective

This frame has been taken from same yesterday photo and shows via Po perspective. Of course, being the street so far, arcades, here, seem to be very narrow but they aren't at all (see HERE). Could be interesting to notice how houses are scaled state to be via Po in descent.

Flowers at Balcony

Maybe if you enlarge the photo you will see down in the right: red geraniums out of a balcony. They're a gentle piece of colour. In the background: Piazza Vittorio Veneto (half).

Platti Pasticceria

Beside the bar (I published yesterday) there this very small jewel that it's Platti's confectioner. They sell chocolate made by them and... Nothing more to add: just to taste it.

Another historical Cafe in Torino. This is Platti. As you can see it isn't less beautiful than other historical cafe I showed you before. Platti it's also -if not overall- a chocolate producer (in Italy Torino is probably the first city where to taste excellent chocolate). I published some photo in past HERE and HERE where to see Platti's chocolate and Gianduiotti = the typical chocolates of Torino. Next some days some other photo of Platti.

Skyline 1

Another skyline of the city taken from hill. Hill of Torino it isn't regular and... One. I mean: watching hill from the city you got impression to see one hill but it isn't. It's a perspective effect because, along it axis, it is often composed by two or three small hill. In this photo in fact you can see some houses in a sort of bight of it but view from the city, these houses, seem to be set into the main hill.

...Coffee...

First of all questions:
1. How do you like coffee? (american, espresso, with cold milk, warm milk, cream, lemon rind, ..., else?)
2. How many coffee do you get along the day?

Then caption:
Here's toast machine of coffee. No more working but able to. Then the lady is thinking on which one kind of coffee is the best.

P.S. In Italian, below, list on ways to drink coffee are slightly different from English.

Prima di tutto le domande:
1. Come vi piace il caffè? (lungo, ristretto, normale, con latte freddo, macchiato caldo, panna, corretto, ..., altro?)

As promised yesterday here is the building where there's the Torino Town Hall taken from an angle of Piazza Palazzo di Città. Could be interesting to see different colour from buildings around. White the Town Hall, light yellow the others.

At the end of this street (via Palazzo di Città) there's the Town Hall of Torino (the white palace in the background). Tomorrow I'll post another photo of it from another angle.

After Hours

At sunset by the Torino University (department of Literature, philosophy, law and foreign languages) students have an aperetif, talk, and "cazzeggiano"lazy down there. Even if "cazzeggiano" it isn't easy to translate in English I'm deeply sure everybody has really understood the meaning. Me too, today, Sunday, I'll do the same ;-) --- Have a nice Sunday !!!

Great Nathalie

Well Nathalie centered the point ! Mole Antonelliana hosts the Museum of the Cinema (I should say "National" too but we call it "National" because it's the most important of Italy not because it concerns only Italian movies). At ground floor there's this LOUNGE BAR at free entry :-) --- At each sit place there's a screen and a track ball mouse to surf some old movie (first photo); then you can see how the long table changes colour gradually ! --- I'm so sorry Coltrane :-( --- Albi and James P. Sullivan you two are naugthy girl and boy= too easy for residents !!!! --- Seriously speaking thank you to **everyone** to be part of this riddle :-)

So, in few words, the question is: "What is it this?" ... Tomorrow night the solution :-)

Mole Antonelliana 4

Yesterday someone thought to a broken link about Mole Antonelliana. If I centered the point and I understood well, it wasn't. It was a link to a search on this blog with word "Antonelliana". Scrolling down you can get all photos here published concerning Mole Antonelliana. Even if Italian T is less appealing than French red cigar, here is another photo of Mole and an Italian tobacconist sign.

Down from Mole Antonelliana

This is an unusual view down from Mole Antonelliana. Follow the link to see many angle of view from where I took the symbol of Torino.

This is a particular of wall and ceiling of "Chinese Cabinet" about Caffè San Carlo.... ---

I'm sorry but unfortunately this week I don't have enough time to reply to yours ever appreciated comments either to surf on other blogs. I hope next week work will go back to usual.

This is the first of some photo I'll go to publish about the wonderful Caffè San Carlo. It is in Piazza San Carlo and is one of the most beautiful Caffè of Torino and of Italy. In foreground you can see several kind of appetizers you're free to eat drinking an aperitif (when I took the photo was dinner time). If you have time take a look on history of the Caffè (from the site - in English too). It's caffè but also a very good restaurant.

Lamppost

This is typical lamppost in Torino and street lamps are in each arch. They all play with light and shadow.

House, another...

I'm so sorry about that lamppost that unfortunately cover part of the house... I like this house because its roof quite strange (it seems there's a sort of balcony but it isn't).

I posted HERE the first image taken at Caffé Reale inside to Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) in Torino. This second one has been taken in another space of same cafe. Remarkable is that first floor upside with another circle of windows.

Via Garibaldi

Do you know that Torino is popular for having streets that cross each other at 90 degree (right corner) like NYC ? This is via Garibaldi from Piazza Statuto to Piazza Castello. In the background in fact there's Palazzo Madama and... in the middle: 1 Km of crowd and shops.

-- Oh ! Thir... Ehm.. Many years ago today I've got my High School Degree. Do you remember when did you get your?

Reverse Panorama - Night

No more to add on what said yesterday. It's possible to see well: Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Gran made's church and Santa Maria del Monte church, on the top of Cappuccini's hill.

Reverse Panorama - Day

This photo is called Reverse Panorama because, usually, Torino is taken from the hill and the skyline look like THIS ONE. This photo, at opposite, has been taken from Mole Antonelliana and tomorrow I'll post the same taken at night. Being conscious this photo may be too small, I'll be very happy to send the original if asked.

500 Happening encore

I'm sorry to bother you with another photo taken to those little cars that made the history of this country if we talk about transportation. This car literally has been the first car of a whole generation of lucky people (me included) and the first way to move by one's own of another generation of people. In Italy but I should say in Europe (as these photos show looking at their plates) it still represents a life's philosophy, a piece of our history and a very sweet dream . Fiat 500 forever

Fiat 500 forever

500 Happening

Two days ago: 800 Fiat 500 (the old one) were in Piazza Vittorio Veneto and with them thousands of tourists ready to say "Hello" to the new bambina.
