A room with a view

The photo doesn't come out from the E.M. Forster's novel neither we are in Florence but in Torino and that is the Mole Antonelliana (also popular because the National Museum of Cinema).

La foto non è tratta dall'omonimo romanzo di E.M. Forster e nemmeno siamo a Firenze bensì Torino e quella è la Mole Antonelliana (altresì nota per essere la sede del Museo Nazionale del Cinema).

Art Nouveau

I've taken this photo on the corner between via Piffetti and via Beaumont. Via Piffetti has plenty of Art Nouveau, one of the most in Torino. If you enlarge it you can get lot of detail. The corner is an acute angle (less than 90 degree).

Ho scattato questa foto sull'angolo tra via Piffetti e via Beaumont. Via Piffetti ha un'elevata concentrazione di costruzioni in stile Liberty, forse la maggiore a Torino. Se ingrandita si possono ammirare notevoli dettagli. L'angolo tra le due vie è acuto (inferiore a 90°).

Cappuccini at Blue Time

Theme day: graffiti

Of course Torino has plenty of graffiti. Some nice, most not. I love to publish this one again. I've taken the photo over the Olympic footbridge (in the background the Olympic Village) time ago. If you enlarge it you can read: "Principessa Ti Amo" = "Princess I love you". It's a love graffiti, a bit long and devastating but where love is concerned, we can forgive him --- Today is the Theme Day for City Daily Photo Community. Piazza della Consolata

Antiche Sere

In Torino old typical restaurants are still called "Piòla". This photo has been taken at Antiche Sere a typical piòla where Antonella, her parents, her brother (cook) and her sister in law manage at best. Time seems locked at last century but fresh, good and simple food, with superb wine and Antonella's smile take you to present day.

A Torino i ristoranti tipici si chiamano ancora "Piòla". Questa foto è stata presa alle Antiche Sere una tipica piòla dove Antonella, i suoi genitori, suo fratello (in cucina) e sua cognata gestiscono al meglio. Il tempo sembra essersi fermato allo scorso secolo ma il cibo genuino e semplice, l'ottimo vino e il sorriso di Antonella vi portano rapidamente al presente.

Apple Store

Torino got its first Apple Store. The photo probably doesn't show how wide it is. The widest in Italy, actually :-)

Torino ha il suo primo Apple Store. La foto forse non riesce a dare l'idea ma con i suoi 300 mq è al momento il più grande d'Italia.

Narrow Building

This photo shows a narrow building. In Torino there are some (this one is in via Lagrange). They were built at beginning of last century.

Questa fotografia mostra una delle diverse costruzioni "strette" che a Torino vennero costruite, in linea di massima, ai primi del '900. Questa è in via Lagrange.

An Arch in The Blue

Torino Daily Photo and I will be in holiday for few days until the 20th of September. Let me remember too what happened nine years ago... In memory of innocent people died.

Piazza Emanuele Filiberto

In Torino many names of streets, avenues and squares recall someone of Savoy's Dinasty. So at Quadrilatero Romano the main square is "Emanuele Filiberto" and this last photo shows how people love to spend their Summer night time in this historical square.

A Torino molti nomi di strade. corsi e piazze richiamano qualcuno della Dinastia dei Savoia. Così al Quadrilatero Romano la piazza principale si chiama "Emanuele Filiberto" e quest'ultima fotografia mostra come la gente adori trascorrere le serate estive in questa piazza ricca di storia.

Eataly in New York

I am very proud that since today a piece of Torino lives in New York City. I am talking about Eataly that I've shown many time on Torino Daily Photo. I published this photo in fact just few days after they opened in Torino (HERE). Mr. Bloomberg attended yesterday the grand opening of Eataly of Mr. Oscar Farinetti at 200 5th Ave. New York. New Yorkers, have fun you too !!!

Sono molto orgoglioso che da oggi un pezzo di Torino viva a New York. Sto parlando di Eataly che ho mostrato più volte su questo blog. Pubblicai questa foto infatti pochi giorni dopo la loro apertura a Torino (QUI). Il Sindaco Bloomberg ha inaugurato ieri l'apertura di Eataly di Oscar Farinetti al n. 200 della Quinta Strada. Newyorchesi, divertitevi !!!

Market

Today is the 1st day of September so the Theme Day within City Daily Photo Community. The today's theme is "Open Air Market". Well this one is just beside my home in Torino. In this photo we see the popular Pachino's tomato. These juicy small tomatoes come in fact from Pachino (Sicily) and they are ssooo tasteful. Then Peppers from Carmagnola just near Torino.
