The Valentino's Castle

This is the Valentino's Castle taken from the other side of river Po. Its original roof recall French architecture of XVI century thanks to Madama Cristina di Francia (wife of Vittorio Amedeo I) and Queen herself from 1637 to 1663. She loved this castle and changed its court and façade to the city (at the other side, see tomorrow). I took this photo in a brillian windy evening. Further details about the castle HERE.

The fog and the castle

This is the Castello del Valentino (Valentino's Castle) in a cold, foggy morning. Its original roof recall French architecture of XVI century thanks to Madama Cristina di Francia (wife of Vittorio Amedeo I) and Queen herself from 1637 to 1663. She loved this castle and changed its court and façade to the city --- Have a nice weekend !!!

The fog, the river and the castle

In a cold foggy morning taken at the other side of river Po: the Valentino's Castle. Same castle taken by night HERE -- (Which one do you prefer?)

The Valentino's Castle 1

As promised yesterday this is how the Castle looks like viewed from the city and how Madama Cristina di Francia wanted its look. I must say I posted last 21st of April another photo of it (here) but I prefer this one because I took it with wide angle.

Ban Ki-moon and the Fairy Tale Castle

Torino, photo of a Fairy Tale Castle in the Valentino's park. In this Castle there's the Torino School of Architecture but in these last two days it hosted Mr. Ban Ki-moon (Hangul: 반기문 ; Hanja: 潘基文) Secretary General of the United Nations and fifty U.N. Managers. He chose Torino twice in past too for their annual meeting. Good choice Mr. Ban Ki-moon !!!

Ottima scelta Segretario Ban Ki-moon !!!

Castello del Valentino

I have shown many times How Valentino's Castle looks like from the other side (see HERE) but rarely, by night, how it looks seen from the other side of the river Po. It was one of residence of residences of Royal House of Savoy and in 1197 it has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. More on Wikipedia HERE

Last night in Torino temp fell down until 10.4F (-12 C)... The Po river and Valentino's Castle in look liked even more cold yesterday.

The photo shows the Castle of Valentino (because it was built at Valentino's Park). Its original roof recall French architecture of XVI century thanks to Madama Cristina of France (wife of Vittorio Amedeo I) and Queen herself too from 1637 to 1663. She loved this castle and changed its court and façade to the city. It was built by Andrea di Castellamonte.
