Today is "Ferragosto" it means not only the middle of the month, not only a christian holiday (Assunzione della Beata Vergine Maria), but overall the top of holiday. The name comes in fact from Latin: "Feriae Augusti" = "Augusti's [Roman Emperor] rest". Cities are most... Empty, without people because in holiday... Not all of course :-)

Beautiful photo.
Love your night shots, Fabrizio. Buon ferragosto! Ciao. A.
I think they've all come here. Edinburgh is bulging at the seams because of our annual International Festival. So your almost people-free shot is a lovely sight.
I love how this photo is both peaceful and a bit melancholy at the same time. I am curious as to where people from Torino go for their holidays. Your city is in such a wonderful location; it seems there are so many choices.
Happy Feriae Augusti, Fabrizio! I hope you will be enjoying your holiday soon as well.
Thank you very much Randy and Antonella :-)
Linda, I agree. Some year ago me too I was one of them in Edinburgh. Then, at the other side, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a performance that deserves to be seen once in life (the fact I *adore* Edinburgh and Scotland helps too ehehe).
Ann, people go mostly to seaside then lot of them go to mountain (mountains and seaside are both quite near to the city). Those that live in Torino because they work here, go home :-) --- I will be in holiday a week in September (seaside me too ehehe) but my main holiday will be as usual in January or February. I agree with you the photo is a bit melancholy and, in some way, I like it.
