500 Giannini TV

As you can see the two-cylinder engine is back. The original 500 was completely convertible (afterwards just only sunroof). 500 was built and assembled in Torino but Giannini was in Rome. This one in photo has the original luggage rack too. A last tip: TV means "Turismo Veloce" (speed tourism). HERE <-- the story of Giannini Automobiles S.p.A. (unfortunately only in Italian).

This is such a cute car, Fabrizio! What a treasure you've found.

Sometimes, I wish all cars were this small. Better, for many reasons, than gas-guzzling SUVs which are so popular in Manila, despite our narrow streets.

Love the convertible; very cool!

Fabrizio--was the car you had when you were young a convertible as well? It sounds like you had a lot of fun in that car, being eighteen and carefree. Ah,those were the days!

Hilda--as you probably already know, we have the same problem here in the States with the gas-guzzling SUVs. It's amazing, and disappointing, how many people still own these vehicles despite the economy. My only hope is that someday soon they will "get" it.

Virginia and Terry, you are right to love it. I can assure you that's so amusing to drive it all around :-)

Hilda and Ann, I'm afraid that the SUV(possibly balck)-narrow-minded people are literally *all* around unfortunately :-(

Blogging in PA... Great idea. Welcome in Italy :-))
