A very odd game.
I think it's a little like bocce balls. I haven't been able to make myself watch it long enough to confirm this.
Curling was born in Scotland, it's quite old and yes, Hiker, there's something like bocce. I personal love it !
Very popular here still, although unfortunately our team didn't do too well in the Olympics.
