Piazza Statuto (part.)

This is a particular of the monument dedicated to workers dead while they were building Frejus railways tunnel. It is placed in a big place called Piazza Statuto and tomorrow I'll publish the photo that will show the whole place.

It looks as though the statue is soaring above the buildings. Look forward to seeing the others.

I heard about this statue - some say it's a Satan rather than an Angel! And the faces of the buried workers are very scary...I don't know if I'll be brave enough to come back tomorrow ;-)

This kind of body and Satan - nonsense Isabella or somebody :)

I said just about Kate`s angel, how human kind she is.

But I am very curious to see the whole monument, which is dedicated to
the dead workers.

Just a short note because I noticed and I'm sorry about that mispelled preposition I cannot rectify until tonight at home AAANND I would like to ask to Isabella how, when and where did she listen that legend about this monuments? LoL !

Tomorrow the mistery will be unveiled... Perhaps :-)

Beautiful photo.

My post today explains about a duck's sexual habits. Not sure if I should label it with an "X" or not.

Avete statue molto belle in Italia. È triste che la gente è morto, quando hanno fatto il traforo ferroviario.
È una coincidenza, perché ho una statua egualmente questo giorno.

I like the way you have photographed the angel against the sky. Very delicate sculpture.

I returned to check out your angel again since someone mentioned it on my visualstpaul blog. It's veryn different from yours and has had a different reaction. Come take a peek!

Well I have to delay one day to publish the photo of the place (see today photo). However, just to say how things are: the monument doesn't represent an angel but the "Winged Genius of Science". As said it was dedicated to those eight workers dead while they were working on building Frejus railways tunnel in 1871 that linked Italy to France. (Torino is 100 Km far from France).

By the way what Isabella supposed it's also supposed by someone that is going to say that Torino is twice in a magic triangle: the black one (with San Francisco and London), the white one (with Lyon and Prague) and this monument (that's at 45° parallel) should be one angle of black triangle...
