Piazza San Carlo with fog and photo. I took it just after sunset in a really foggy day. Piazza San Carlo is magnificent even if foggy, rainy, windy... Ever ! --- Happy weekend to everyone !

Piazza San Carlo con la nebbia mentre si scattano una foto. E' appena dopo il tramonto in una giornata nebbiosa ma Piazza San Carlo è stupenda anche se con nebbia, pioggia o vento... Sempre ! --- Buon fine settimana :-)

Caffè Mulassano

I took this photo inside to Caffè Mulassano. Realized in pure style Art Nouveau also known as Liberty, and opened in 1907 Mulassano is more than a little Cafè. It's a sort of jewel with really few tables (three inside and four outside). Mirrors and worked wood as walls and ceiling, Mulassano invented a sort of sandwich called "tramezzino" and an aperitif called "Liquore delle Alpi"... Both absolutely to taste ! --- Soon another photo taken outside.

Ho scattato questa fotografia all'interno del Caffè Mulassano. Costruito in puro stile Liberty (all'estero più comunemente noto come Art Nouveau) e inaugurato nel 1907 il Caffè Mulassano è più che un piccolo caffè. E' una sorta di gioiello con pochi tavolini (tre all'interno e quattro all'esterno), specchi e legno intarsiato, soffitto a cassettoni. Mulassano inventò il "tramezzino" e un liquore "Liquore delle Alpi" noto come cordiale e aperitivo... Entrambi decisamente da assaggiare ! --- Presto un'altra foto scattata all'esterno

Sunset Monviso

That top of the mountain you see there over the others belongs to Monviso the same mountain from where born the river Po: the longest river in Italy and the same you can see in blue (enlarging the phoyo) crossing Torino.

Quella cima di montagna che si vede svettare sopra le restanti appartiene al Monviso la stessa montagna da cui nasce il fiume Po: il più lungo fiume italiano e lo stesso che si vede in blu (specie se si ingrandisce la foto) mentre attraversa Torino.

According to a tradition of "City Daily Photo" Community (of which this photoblog is part), I am going to publish what I think to consider my... enough blue best photo of the year (the last year). The winner is: a sunset after storm over Piazza Vittorio in Torino I took last August ---

Performance at foot of Mole

While people were going to visit the National Museum of Cinema (HERE) and / or to climb (with the elevator) over the Mole, he was performing classical music...

Mentre i visitatori si mettevano in coda per visitare il Museo Nazionale del Cinema (QUI) e /o salire (con l'ascensore) in cima alla Mole, lui eseguiva brani di musica classica...

And snowed

After so freezing days, snowed yesterday and tonight. I took this photo in the street where I live.

The frozen Winter

Last night in Torino temp fell down until 10.4F (-12 C)... The Po river and Valentino's Castle in look liked even more cold yesterday.

L'altra notte a Torino la temperatura è scesa a circa -12... Il Po e il Castello del Valentino come apparivano ieri nella morsa di gelo.

Luci d'Artista 2009

Galleria Subalpina (not Gallery in English but "arcade") is a wonderful example of Art Nouveau (Liberty). With Luci d'Artista Marco Gastini "painted" its roof in blue... and red. Ah someone defines Galleria Subalpina a post-Liberty building but I'm afraid he's in wrong. Lyberty style started around 1890 until around 1915 and Galleria Subalpina was built in 1874, so... --- Happy weekend !!!!

Galleria Subalpina magnifico esempio di stile Liberty (Art Nouveau). Con Luci d'Artista Marco Gastini ha "dipinto" il tetto in blu... e rosso. Ah qualcuno la definisce una costruzione post-Liberty ma temo sia in errore dal momento che lo Stile Liberty lo si può datare tra il 1890 sino alla Prima Guerra Mondiale: 1915 - 1918 mentre la Galleria Subalpina venne costruita nel 1874, dunque.. --- Buon Fine settimana !!!!
