Piazza Emanuele Filiberto
In Torino many names of streets, avenues and squares recall someone of Savoy's Dinasty. So at Quadrilatero Romano the main square is "Emanuele Filiberto" and this last photo shows how people love to spend their Summer night time in this historical square.

Eataly in New York
I am very proud that since today a piece of Torino lives in New York City. I am talking about Eataly that I've shown many time on Torino Daily Photo. I published this photo in fact just few days after they opened in Torino (HERE). Mr. Bloomberg attended yesterday the grand opening of Eataly of Mr. Oscar Farinetti at 200 5th Ave. New York. New Yorkers, have fun you too !!!
Newyorchesi, divertitevi !!!

Today is the 1st day of September so the Theme Day within City Daily Photo Community. The today's theme is "Open Air Market". Well this one is just beside my home in Torino. In this photo we see the popular Pachino's tomato. These juicy small tomatoes come in fact from Pachino (Sicily) and they are ssooo tasteful. Then Peppers from Carmagnola just near Torino. Enjoy ! ...And enjoy to take a look to open air markets all around the world clicking HERE :-))

Art Nouveau a Torino
The photo shows the front of the building I published some day ago. As you can see it's a sort of elegy of curves' line. In a couple of days I will post a detail of the entrance. "Art Nouveau a Torino" because "Art nouveau" is probably most popular abroad than Liberty.

Another exceptional point of interest is "Villa della Regina". It's one of Residences about the Royal House of Savoy listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. It's on the hill of Torino in a wonderful scenary and view. It has been built between 1615 and 1622 by Ascanio Vitozzi and Amedeo di Castellamonte. The photo has been taken from the top of Mole Antonelliana (quite far) but it's possible to see (if enlarged) the composition of vineyard. Absolutely to see from aerial view (Google) HERE and the official site and the map HERE (in English).

Liberty a Torino
I have taken and shown many photos of this building on the corner between corso Fiume and via Bicocca in Torino but I love it despite it needs, in my opinion, some maintenance. If you enlarge the photo for sure you will notice that almost each line it's a curve... More to come on same building next days.

Ferragosto
Today is "Ferragosto" it means not only the middle of the month, not only a christian holiday (Assunzione della Beata Vergine Maria), but overall the top of holiday. The name comes in fact from Latin: "Feriae Augusti" = "Augusti's [Roman Emperor] rest". Cities are most... Empty, without people because in holiday... Not all of course :-)

I took and showed many photo of this church but from different angles. It's the Sanctuary of Maria Consolatrice more popular in Torino as "La Consolata". It's another building realized by Guarino Guarini as the Torino's Cathedral and the magnificent San Lorenzo's Church.

The night of shooting stars
In Italy on 10th of August is San Lorenzo's night, the night of shooting stars and people are used to express a wish when see one of them. In this photo, if you enlarge it, there's not exactly a star but a planet: Venus. Anyway I hope you will realize each of your desire :-) --- Tomorrow same photo (taken from Mole Antonelliana) more close to some building.

Torino at Sunset
With this photo taken at the top of Mole Antonelliana, will begin a photo series concerning sunset over Torino when the sky is so clear as it was used in past days.
