Teatro Carignano


The restored Teatro Carignano opened last 3rd of February after 18 months of work and 14millions Euro. Originally built at the end of 1600 and owned by Princes of Carignano ("cadet" branch of Savoia), this small theatre (800 places) has been ever considered a jewel. Il Teatro Carignano completamente ristrutturato è stato riaperto lo scorso 3 Febbraio dopo 18 mesi di lavoro e 14 milioni di Euro. Costruito alla fine del XVII secolo dai Principi di Carignano (ramo cadetto della casa Savoia), questo piccolo teatro (800 posti) è da sempre considerato un gioiello. this is a fabulous shot of the theater in all of its glory. I love this type of intimate and ornate theater. A gem indeed!

This is something I sometimes miss about Europe... Singapore has a very energetic and vibrant atmosphere, which I like very much, but in Europe, especially Italy has historical and architectural richness.

Anyway, I've been slowly settling on this island state, enjoying the new challenges and discoveries. I hope you are well!

It reminds me of the toy theatre in Bergman's 'Fanny and Alexander', one of my all time favourite films.
