Old records

Do you remember them? 33 rpm or 45 rpm... Noise and scratches and bulky record players... Which one was your first record? --- The photo has been taken at Balon :-)

The first album bought with my own money was News of the World by Queen. It is still there at "home" in Italy. Have a nice week. Ciao. A.

A bizarre record for children called 'Sparky's Magic Piano'. It used to frighten the life out of me.

Oh fabulous! I remember having lots of these sort of records. Can't really names - Elvis, of course. Some rock and roll guy who had a curl in his hair. Can't remember his name now...

Isn't it interesting that things that were once SO important - well now I can't even remember the name?

Joo me too I miss them. Elvis Virginia? Good ! Beach Boys BSquared? oh I loved so much them. I Qeeeeeeeen: impazzivo per Freddy Mercury e a Londra ho cercato la sua tomba (ma credo sia stato cremato).

Fio and Beatles: wonderful couple :-) And no cieldequimper I don't laugh because my very first 45rpm was Azzurro by Adriano Celentano

Jilly, it happens yes. It shows that probably we realize how he / she definitely wasn't so terrific in our life.

Were you a fan of South African Miriam Makeba? I still have her record that has the "Click" song on it. I have kept a number of my favorite albums.

Fabrizio - I've been selling off Piero's and my vinyl record collection on ebay - have made quite a lot of money. Some 1970s new Wave stuff has fetched $100-$150. Quite a bit of it has been bought by Europeans.

I have bought a new energy efficient refrigerator on the proceeds!

Seeing the prices here - 4 Euros each, I can see why mine are attractive to bid on. I start most auctions at about $3.99 Australian, which is about 2 Euros. But many sell for a lot more than that!

PS I think the first record I owned was either The Seekers or Simon and Garfunkel. Or maybe the soundtrack of The Sound of Music (mono).

My dad had a bumber of 78s I used to like.

Hey I have that Beach Boys LP. It's only worth 4.00. Dissapointing.

45rpm: Beat's so lonely by Charlie Sexton
33rpm: a few from the Beatles were already available at home, but I clearly remember Born in the Usa by Springsteen and Legend by Bob Marley, I can't recall the rest so I assume those were the first ones...
