Yes "he" has been placed in front of Palatine Towers (<-- Wikipedia in En). Palatina Towers were one of four city gates to the Romanesque structure of Augusta Taurinorum the Romanesque city actually known as Torino. It was built in First century b.c. (between 1 b.c. to 99 b.c.).

I really like your perspective, the way the sculpture looks imposing against the sky. Lovely.
I agree with Laurie, great photo.
The history of Torino absolutely amazes me. It's mind-boggling for someone like me who lives in a very young country.
I love the angle of this shot. Makes one feel so puny beside the mighty Julius Caesar.
I love the angle of this photo. Those towers are amazing. I've never seen something so old up close, maybe someday!
Have a great day :)
I love upshots. Tey make such a dramatic image. You do live in a marvellous place for a photographer.
"He" was a very wise man. How else would he have said so rightfully: "horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae" ("Of all the Gauls, the Belgians are the bravest"). ;)
A truly magnificent statue!
What a shot! I love the grandeur of it all. Even the cloud added to the drama.
I just wanted to say I look at your photos every day and enjoy all of them.
Fabrizio... ok, I can wait but... when are you going to show us Porta Palazzo and the Balun ???
Although the angle might exaggerate the size, I believe that the towers must be impressively large. The statue probably is quite large, too.
Ave Caesar
Qui looks at you Te saluta
Thank you to everyone !!!
@gatto, you're right. I need to go there in fact and to take some photo.
That is a very handsome shot of Big Julie.
