Come detto più volte, Torino venne fondata dai Romani e infatti attorno al 28 a.C. era un accampamento militare quando Cesare Augusto era il primo e probabilmente il più importante degli Imperatori Romani. Torino mantenne la struttura degli Accampamenti Romani e ad oggi le sue strade son tra loro parallele o perpendicolari. In questa fotografia vediamo una via molto lunga che cambia tre volte nome: via Montebello, via San Massimo, via Ormea.

It is amazing to see what Romans actually did in the past. It also reminds me of the very impressive heritage from Roman Empire Age, which has been preserved in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Ahh - the Romans. They new a thing or two. They new for example how to make a jug that didn't drip when you poured it. Nowadays we can put men on the moon, but some manufacturers still haven't learned this trick.
Agree with strangetastes - the vantage point is important here. Unless you have your own helicopter, we need to make do with what nature or man has provided for our photo viewpoints

I love the aerial view of Torino! It looks so organized and I'm surprised it was founded over 2000 years ago.

@ Lavinka: it's quite exact. Torino is 60 Km or so far from 2000mt mountains and about 140km from sea (Savona)
