From the hill the South of Torino with the red arch of the pedestrian bridge that connect Olympic Village to Lingotto and Oval. On the background: mountains. From North-West-South the city is surrounded by mountains...
Fabrizio - this is very beautiful and quite dramatic. How is the arc of light created over the bridge?
I have never visited Torino but your pictures make me more and more interested in doing so. What is the population of the area? Is growth blocked by the mountains on three sides?
A background of sky and mountains where day is still, and a town which starts spending his night! Alpha and omega, hatred and love, water and big fire ... gran bel colpo!
2 Strangetastes, honestly I don't understand very well your question. State that the red arc it a real arc, if you click on the link you can see that the bridge it's light up on both sides... -- Torino (the city, without suburbs), at 31st of March 2007 has 902,612 inhabitant -- it's surrounded by Alps from North, West (not East, sorry) and South (even if a bit far from the city). By the way I think you can have a better detail thank to google earth or google maps.
2 Nikon, yes in those days (was 8th of May) and after sopome really cold days, there was some snow on mountains

Is there any snow left on the mountains?

Stunning! Spotted lights is so modest, like candles, as if they celebrated people in the city.
simply breathtaking...and captured at the perfect time of night!
