House or Castle?

It's honestly hard to reply to this question. This is another beautiful house I saw days ago.

For a split second Frank Lloyd Wright came to mind. I think it was the brick work and long overhang. Again, great tile work and I've seen those sun shades on a number of buildings that you've posted, are they are standard features and expected to be there? They are a great feature to have to keep the inside cool in the summer. Am I correct in assuming that air conditioners are not common in the older buildings?

love the perspective; makes the building even more imposing. Is the decorative work mosaics, a painting or tiles? I enlarged the photo but still couldn't tell. I'd love to rattle around in a place like that on occasion!

Very nice perspective as Kate said.

Is somebody live there. Wow. We always wonder what people can do in big houses like this. If all families live there we understand, but if just one family..well...how do they use all this rooms.
Nice photo anyway.

Look at those colours, how harmonious
they are and beautiful shapes and decorations. Why modern buildings are so simply, at least here, as if workers could be in terrible hurry - perhaps they are - time is money!!
What kind is your some modern house in Torino?

Actually, it looks like an old monastry, where the monks live. It's gorgeous.

I wish they haven't covered up the windows with those ugly blinds.

2 Jules: you're in right and actually it's well hidden

2 Kate: Tiles. The today post it's expressly for you

2 karola&pamp: sure some family lives there and no it's not a unique-family house.

2 Leena: modern house are mostly 6 / 9 floors, grey and without any character buildings... It's sad but it's true. Fortunately the center of the city (with this kind of houses) it's quite wide :-)

yes Beetle and Ming you both are in right. Owners maybe live a sort of fairy tale or feel it like a monastry -- Thank you to everyone about your comments and yes
