Do you love reading?

Most of us, I bet, love reading but the question is:
Does the net keep you off of reading a bit, spending more time on surfing? This is what's happening to me. Unfortunately.

La maggioranza di noi, scommetto, ama la lettura ma la domanda è:
Internet influisce sul tempo che dedicate alla lettura a favore del tempo impiegato in rete? Ciò è quanto va accadendo a me. Purtroppo.

Yes, it's true. But I tend to read too fast, surfing the net helps to make the books last longer, and thus saves my money. Yah, that's right, the net saves me money! (Does it sound like I've convinced myself?, Well, maybe for today.)

I have to agree as well. I have a stack of partly-read books, some of which I probably have to start from the beginning again!

I do love reading, but I also love writing, taking pictures AND learning about cultures from around the world via the Internet, which brings real people onto my computer screen! It can be a job just to balance everything plus the household too! The house is the part that suffers.

My reading time did suffer a bit, but not too much, since I don't watch TV anymore ;-)

I think I read less and I'm sure I don't watch tv anymore!

Yes surfing has cut into my reading. Specifically surfing of daily photo sites. I think the reason is the satisfaction from belonging to a community. Note that I do try to read everyday for 30 minutes before I go to bed. This helps insure a good nights sleep.

As matter of fact since you mentioned it, I know internet take off some of my time to read. I just love to read a book. It just so much that you can read in internet. I just do like Denton did before sleep.

Sono un lettore avid, libri e materiale del Internet. Ed a volte persino ho letto con i miei orecchi - ascoltando un libro su nastro.

I am an avid reader, books and internet material. And sometimes I even read with my ears - listening to a book on tape.

Thanks for comment.
We use same camera D200 and I also use compact but it's a Canon G3.

I love books but mostly viewing compare to reading. Therefore my collection is mostly photo albums and something like National Geographic type books. I do a reading, too.

reading a book is totally different than surging the Internet .. book reading goes long back .. one is captivated when reading a book, just like watching a movie, however surfing the Internet doesn't give you any of that.

Yes, I read less since I visit daily photo blogs. But I really enjoy the change, at least for now.

Yes and no. I'm actually encouraged to read more because of things I come across on the internet, but I find it easier to surf and just dip my toe in. It's dis-satisfying because I know reading results in more in-depth understanding

nabeel, you're in right and I think that we all know very well the difference. The question was a bit different in fact.

About half the books I read these days are ones sent to me for review and then the reviews get published on the net.
Although I haven't given up on books I have given up on newspapers.

I do spend a lot of time surfing online but I read a lot too. But mostly, I read magazines and research journals. I don't read too many books though.
