Galleria Grande "di Diana"

This photo shows a detail of Galleria Grande at Reggia di Venaria (also said "of Diana" because it links Palace of Diana -the 'Reggia'- with Stables) . Completely revised by Filippo Juvara in 1716, he conceived it as a "theatre of light". This oval windows, one per each arch-opening below them, were in fact added by Juvarra to increase light into the Arcade. --> HERE you can see altogether the oval windows.

La foto mostra un dettaglio della Galleria Grande alla Reggia di Venaria Reale (anche detta "di Diana" perché collega la Reggia di Diana con le scuderie). Completamente ridisegnata da Filippo Juvarra tra il 1716 e il 1718, egli la concepì come un "teatro di luce". Queste finestre ovali infatti, una per apertura ad arco al di sotto di esse, vennero infatti aggiunte dallo Juvarra per aumentare la luce nella Galleria. --> QUI si possono vedere nel loro insieme le finestre ovali.
