Endless Porticos

Torino can count on its 18 Km (11.18 Miles) of Porticos... This shot ever recall to me this video that NBC aired on February 10th 2006, just before the XXth Olympic Winter Games opening Ceremony. Give it a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBiL2VLPmFo

  1. I am certain I saw that video in 2006 but it means so much more now that I have seen Torino through your lens Fabrizio. This is a stunning photo today. I love the couple in the foreground. Perfect!

  7. The light really gives it a lot of atmosphere. And the people in black contrast perfectly with the white. Nice!

  8. Hi Fabrizio!
Another wonderful picture of you fantastic City!
You should prepare a "book" of all these pictures you gift us with every day and contact an editor to publish the best of them in a proper way (An elegant city guide? A book on the City? ...?)! ;-)
Perhaps you have already thought about it...
Also the short NBC movies you have linked in the latest picture captions are simply breathtaking!!
Chapeau to the NBC cameramen and directors! Indeed Americans are always very good in these kind of communications, probably the best ones in the whole world....
Anyhow fantastic images of Torino, Piedmont and also of the other, most widely known Italian Cities! At the very end it is a wonderful promotional movie for the whole Country!!
I wonder if there is any chance to get it (as a proper file - wmv or mov or...) somewhere or from somebody on the web... It is so good it would be great to keep it directly...

    Please keep posting every day!!

    Thank you!

    Cesare

P.S.:- the next time we catch up in Torino (hope very soon, indeed!), you have to let me try an ice-cream at Pepino!! You know how much I appreciate the ice-cream still prepared according to the Italian traditional way!!!

  11. 18 kilometres of porticos! Why am I not surprised! Goodness, that's a lot of porticos. Good to see the video too. It doesn't show Torino's beauty tho - you do it better!

  12. @Virginia, Thank you. Me too I loved to catch the couple in foreground ;-)

@Julie, Thank you very much about the artistic compliment !

@Lunarossa, Paolo -che ringrazio per il complimento- ha proprio ragione. Via Po non è comunque lontana ;-)

G@tto, Blognote and Marc thank you very much indeed (not a bad idea, G@tto, to fix a camcorder on a bike. I'll do it one day)

@Cesare, you always make me blush. I'm afraid I don't deserve your compliments and yes, I totally agree about NBC video. They usually love to emphasize a bit but who doesn't love to be celebrate as a diva? Not Torino for sure that loved so much to be so much admired during XX Winter Olympic Games.

  13. @Lindab, I am happy you like that video. No I don't think they aired it in Europe. It seems they did it in USA just before opening ceremony at 2006, February 10th. It has beeen realized to introduce Torino to USA.

@Jilly, too polite. I personally love that video even if photos are maybe able to create atmosphere. Sometimes.
