Julius Caesar

Yes "he" has been placed in front of Palatine Towers (<-- Wikipedia in En). Palatina Towers were one of four city gates to the Romanesque structure of Augusta Taurinorum the Romanesque city actually known as Torino. It was built in First century b.c. (between 1 b.c. to 99 b.c.).

  3. The history of Torino absolutely amazes me. It's mind-boggling for someone like me who lives in a very young country.

I love the angle of this shot. Makes one feel so puny beside the mighty Julius Caesar.

  6. "He" was a very wise man. How else would he have said so rightfully: "horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae" ("Of all the Gauls, the Belgians are the bravest"). ;)

  10. Although the angle might exaggerate the size, I believe that the towers must be impressively large. The statue probably is quite large, too.
