Tartufo - Truffle
Like each Autumn: Truffles !!! (Who don't know what truffle is please click HERE). Here they were sold by Eataly at current price (yes you are reading correctly): € 650 / etto. It means 650 Euro per 100 grams = 3.5 Ounce. It's a bit "expensive" and more than black truffle but we are talking about the WHITE one, the most estimated.
Come ogni Autunno: i Tartufi !!!
Fabrizio, Excuse me but I would rather spend that money on some fine Italian shoes! :)

I tartuffi mi piaccono troppo!! But I've never tried the white one...Did you?
ReplyDeleteAmazing that a fungus can fetch that much money!
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't even like them!
ReplyDeleteFabrizio, is it worth it? I'd like to taste one, just as I'd like to drink a thousand dollar bottle of wine. What if it is just that good.
ReplyDeleteYum yum !!! souvenirs souvenirs...
ReplyDeleteToo good !
Oh my, Fabrizo1 White truffles, no less. Delicious shaved on pasta. There's a restaurant in Monaco - an Italian restaurant, of course - called Gianni's. They serve wonderful pasta with white truffles...yummy...
ReplyDeleteFabrizio, I am very sad to say that I have never had a true truffle, the jewel of the kitchen! Certainly a deprived person, right?!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've seen whole truffles!
ReplyDeleteThey sure don't look very appetizing. Makes me wonder how people discovered they were edible in the first place.
