I am in
via Roma and down there where porticos end there's the
church of San Carlo that also gives its name to the square:
Piazza San Carlo.
Sono in
via Roma e al fondo dei portici si vede la
Chiesa di San Carlo di cui all'omonima piazza:
Piazza San Carlo.
Is the Pope planning a visit any time soon at your University? Will he be welcomed? Surely the Vatican's opinions on Galileo are not new :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely walk down to the church. Are they stores on the right?

I like the perspective of everything leading your eye to the church.
ReplyDeleteVery majestic walk way.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful - stunning. Looks a very expensive part of Turin - sure the shops are very upmarket and great places to eat and drink. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, the light and the people and the lines on the floor, fantastic
ReplyDeleteLovely frame for the church!
ReplyDelete@Clarice, 1. For sure not (I hope) - 2. I really don't know... I wish he will not - 3. That's a fact ;-)
ReplyDelete@Pat, yes they are. Via Roma is in two parts (with Piazza San Carlo in the middle) and plenty of "upmarket" shops
@Jilly, yes you're in right. Via Roma it's the most elegant street of the city (not exactly the most beautiful in my taste)
@Nikon and b.c., and zentmrs, Thank you :-)
A thousand thank yous
ReplyDeleteAlmost B+W! I like the natural square framing effect
ReplyDeleteYou impressed me most about this photo is how smooth and polished the floor looks. It looks so clean too.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!! I like ho you framed the church. Seems like we can shop till we drop in your city, rain or shine: there seem to be so many covered sidewalks! Nice!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is stunning. I lived in Torino for a year working with Banco San Paolo for the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact for some months my office was right here where you are taking the photo - thru two heavy metal doors. It was a beautiful experience.
I loved during games-time watching all the Romans and Neopolitans and Venezians arriving to Torino ... their mouths agape at how beautiful the provencial city they liked to make fun of really was.
