Fiat 500

Stolen for DP Community these are the really firsts photos of Fiat 500 taken at the backstage of the great show that introduced tonight new Fiat 500 to the world. The Olympic show (same organization and direction) on river Po amazed and touched everyone.

  1. Oh, I feel like an industrial spy - sneaking a peek at a new invention!

Incidentally, the sales of small (compact and economy) cars are up in the US this year. Yep, the gas prices really hit us where it hurts ;-)

  2. I hope you don't get arrested for disclosing this too early.

  3. Like the new Mini, the shape is here, but not the size. And I'm' sure that this 500 will be a huge success.

Nice shots, and really a scoop : I've seen lots of photos about this exterior, but it's the first of the interior.

  4. Thanks for the scoop Fabrizio. It looks like Fiat have a done a good job of the resurrection - modern, but recognisable genes from the original. Unlike the re-launched Mini which was truck-sized compared with Alec Issigonis' classic

  10. That really is a nice looking automobile. I suppose it also gets very good gas mileage. It also looks a little like some of the other small cars. I like your photos of it.

  12. When I was in Italy, 5 of us spent a day in an old 500 ( people were actually pointing at it & smiling). We went from Bergamo to Lago de Garda & back.
One of the 5 was a baby that cried & screamed the entire trip :)

  16. Lovely to see the bambino back again. Will it give the Smart car a run for its money?

  17. Well what to say. Thank you to everyone. In particular:

@ calusarus and richard, I agree with both even if this new one is totally different from the old (of course)

@ Teo, let me add that I'm proud to be torinese :-)

@ Nikon, I had two 500 so I know and remember it so well !!! Let me say that I **understand** what you felt along that trip

@ Samantha, uhm aspetta che la veda meglio e poi vedrai che cambia idea !!

@ Sally, I really don't know. BTW the two cars are really differents 'cause different is their concept to be car. Smart (that's great) is especially a city car, 500 seems to be something more, it's also a bit longer and larger than Smart. It seems possible to compare 500 vs Mini-BMW

  18. Cool....glad to see it back. I have wonderful memories of a continental tour in a 600 in late 60s.

  19. While this is a nice looking automobile, in my opinion it lacks the charm of its ancestors!
