After six years the Juventus Football Club (based in Torino) wins the 30th title of Italian Soccer Championship (photo got by tv-SkyHD).

Waiting for the Torino Jazz Festival since tonight 'til the first of May. Torino has been one of the first destination in Europe for the African-American music. Not for a case that the first time he came in Europe, Louis Armstrong came to Torino on the 15th and 16th January 1935.  All That Jazz !!!!!!

In attesa dell'avvio, stasera, del Torino Jazz Festival da oggi sino al Primo di Maggio. Torino è stata una delle prime mete europee della Musica afroamericana. Non è un caso se il 15 e 16 Gennaio 1935, Louis Armstrong scelse proprio Torino quale unica tappa italiana. All That Jazz !!!!!!

25 Aprile - La Liberazione

 

Well today is April the 25. In 1945 with the renewal of the Allied offensive, Italian Committee of National Liberation (CLN) started a general insurrection and liberated Torino and Milano from Nazist and Fascist. This is a mile stone from where was born the Italian Republic. Of course more on it on Wikipedia HERE -- Each year on 24th of April the night, in Torino, there's a torchlight procession and is... Moving to see how many young people are coming. The Italian caption will be different from the English version. I beg your pardon.

Oggi è il 25 Aprile. Mi auguro che ogni buon italiano conosca la storia del suo Paese. Ogni buon italiano sappia quanti son morti in nome del tricolore e per quel vivere libero che garantisce a ognuno la possibilità di esprimere il meglio di sè nel rispetto della Costituzione e delle norme che uno Stato moderno, il nostro, si è dato. La fiaccolata che ogni anno si tiene a Torino la sera del 24 Aprile, è simbolo del ricordo ma in quegli occhi gioiosi di migliaia di giovani che vi partecipano, si racchiude altresì la speranza che i valori della Resistenza restino vividi come lo sfolgorio delle loro fiaccole.

Fiat Lingotto - La Rampa

Torino, photo of the ramp to go -with cars- on the rooftop of Lingotto. Lingotto (bar) is the name of this building, that looks like a bar, of Fiat Factory designed by Giacomo Mattè Trucco and built from 1916 to 1922. Over the top (on the roof) there is the test track where they were used to test cars --- If you consider it has been built more than 80 years ago, please notice how light and plenty of light the architecture was.

Torino, foto della rampa per salire sul tetto del Lingotto. Lingotto è il nome che venne dato alla costruzione progettata dall'ing. Giacomo Mattè Trucco e realizzata tra il 1916 e il 1922. Sul tetto c'è infatti la pista dove venivano provate le auto --- Considerando che è stato costruito più di 80 anni fa, vi prego di osservare quanto leggera e piena di luce sia l'architettura del palazzo.
