Torino is so hot in these days (as you can realize by the photo) that it's quite impossible to take any photo around...

Ferragosto

As almost every year at Ferragosto (middle of August = top of holiday) I like to publish a fairy photo of Torino. So: the moon, the Torino's typical street lamp and The Church of Santa Maria del Monte far there at Cappuccini top of the hill... In a pink scenario :-) - Happy Ferragosto !

Come circa ogni anno a Ferragosto mi piace pubblicare una foto un po' fatata di Torino. La luna, un lampione tipico di Torino e la Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte lassù sul monte dei Cappuccini... Nel rosa :-) - Buon Ferragosto !

Giardino Roccioso

The Rocky Garden it's a garden into the park of Valentino. It's nice because plenty of flowers and it's lit up in the evening :-)

Il Giardino Roccioso è un giardino all'interno del parco del Valentino. E' grazioso perché ci sono molti fiori ed è illuminato a giorno di sera :-)

Footpath

In Torino all along the river (Po) there is a footpath lit up in the evening as the photo shows, where people can go to make jogging, walk, cycle... And the Mount Monviso that inspired the Paramount logo in the background :-)

A Torino lungo buona parte del Po c'è un sentiero su ambo le sponde illuminato, come mostra la foto, dove è possibile correre, passeggiare andare in bici... E il Monviso che ispirò il logo della Paramount, è là sullo sfondo :-)

Lancia Florida

Designed in 1955 by Giovan Battista Farina called Pinìn (in Piedmontese dialect) from where came out Pininfarina one of the most popular car designer in the world. At National Automobile Museum in Torino the Lancia Florida in the photo represents a milestone in the evolution of car design. More details about Lancia Florida HERE (in English).

Disegnata nel 1955 da Giovan Battista Farina detto Pinìn (in Piemontese) da cui derivò il nome Pininfarina una delle più note carrozzerie nel mondo. Torino Earthquake

Uhmm yes, even if you are thinking that the photo doesn't match with Torino earthquake that happened yesterday, it does. During those few terrible seconds in fact, Maetto (my cuddly black cat) was taken up in something else...

Ebbene sì, sebbene si possa pensare che la foto nulla abbia a che vedere col terremoto a Torino occorso ieri, invece un senso l'ha perché durante quei terribili secondi, Maetto (il mio micione nero) era tutto preso da altro...

Museo dell'Automobile

Thanks to Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, Torino hosts the National Automobile Museum. It was opened in 1960 in this building designed by Amedeo Albertini. The photo shows its complete renewing by Cino Zucchi and François Confino (that designed the National Museum of Cinema in Torino ) and inaugurated by the President of Republic last March --- More to come…

Grazie a Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, Torino ospita il Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile che venne inaugurato nel 1960 nella sede che vediamo su progetto di Amedeo Albertini. La foto tuttavia mostra il completo rifacimento a opera di Cino Zucchi e François Ruffino (che ideò anche il Muso Nazionale del Cinema di Torino ). E' stato inaugurato del Presidente della Repubblica lo scorso Marzo --- Continua...

I mentioned you in past about via Piffetti in Torino. It's a quite long street from corso Tassoni to via Cibrario and it's plenty of wonderful building in Art Nouveau style. This superb building in the photo it's just one more.

Già ho detto di via Piffetti a Torino. E' una via abbastanza lunga tra corso Tassoni e via Cibrario ed è ricca di numerosi esempi di stile Liberty. Questa in foto è un altro notevole esempio.

Royal Dinner

I have been invited at dinner... Where? At Royal Palace "ça va sans dire" :-) --- Torino is where House of Savoy had their residence since around 1100 (more or less) until 1946. To get some detail about the House of Savoy on Wikipedia HERE (in English).
