Torino is plenty of beautiful example of Art Nouveau. The building in the photo (a bit overexposed to see better its details) is on the corner between: via Bertola and via San Francesco d'Assisi.

World Naked Bike Ride

Yesss Torino is on the list of 70 cities of 20 countries affiliated to the World Naked Bike Ride event (--> link) . So yesterday 11th of June they cycled in the city as the photo shows :-)

Ebbene sì Torino è tra le 70 città di 20 Paesi affiliati al World Naked Bike Ride (--> link). Sicché ieri 11 Giugno hanno pedalato in città come la foto mostra :-)

Palazzo Carignano - Cavour Office

One of most popular architect around 1660 in Torino was Guarino Guarini. The photo shows a superb detail of Piedmontese Baroque style of Palazzo Carignano built by Guarini.

Uno degli architetti più famosi a Torino nella metà del XVII secolo era di certo Guarino Guarini. La foto mostra l'elegia del Barocco Piemontese di Palazzo Carignano disegnato appunto dal Guarini.

The oldest house

That one in the background in this photo is considered one of the oldest house in Torino. As you can see it has been revised in many different styles along centuries.

La casa sullo sfondo nella foto con i mattoni a vista è considerata une delle più antiche case di Torino. E' possibile osservare i diversi apporti stilistici lungo i secoli.

Castello del Valentino

The photo shows the Castle of Valentino (because it was built at Valentino's Park). Its original roof recall French architecture of XVI century thanks to Madama Cristina of France (wife of Vittorio Amedeo I) and Queen herself too from 1637 to 1663. She loved this castle and changed its court and façade to the city. It was built by Andrea di Castellamonte.

La foto mostra il Castello del Valentino (perché sito al parco del Valentino). Il suo tetto originale richiama l'architettura francese del XVI secolo grazie a Madama Cristina di Francia (moglie di Vittorio Amedeo I) e Regina essa stessa dal 1637 al 1663. Ella amò questo castello e ne fece cambiare cortile e facciata verso la città. Fu disegnato da Andrea di Castellamonte.
