Valentina and Valentino are the twin boats that each Sunday cruise on the Po river from North to South of the city under its monumental bridges and beside historical buildings

Valentina e Valentino sono le due imbarcazioni gemelle che ogni domenica navigano il Po da Nord a Sud della città sotto i suoi ponti monumentali e accanto ai palazzi storici.

Santuario di Maria Ausiliatrice

Commonly called Basilica of Maria Ausiliatrice was opened in 1868 and it reminds to Church of S. Giorgio by Palladio in Venice. Inside is hosted San Giovann Bosco body that firmly wanted to build this church with a home dedicated to young people.

Comunemente chiamata Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice venne inaugurata nel 1868 e ricorda la Chiesa di San Giorgio in Venezia ad opera del Palladio. All'interno vengono ospitate le spoglie di San Giovanni Bosco che fermamente volle la costruzione di questa chiesa in uno alla possibilità di ospitare i giovani.

I took this photo at Valentino park some day ago. They were simply sit there while the river was flowing slowly on the back, like their life.

Ho scattato questa foto al Valentino qualche giorno fa. Erano seduti là mentre l fiume scorreva piano dietro di loro, come le loro vite.

Chiesa di Santa Giulia

This one is the Church of Santa Giulia built around 1862. It is in the Vanchiglia quarter one of more old and beautiful of Torino. (If you enlarge the photo you can catch genuine atmosphere around the church)

Questa è la Chiesa di Santa Giulia costruita attorno al 1862. E' in borgo Vanchiglia uno dei quartieri più vecchi e caratterisitci di Torino.

Eataly - The butcher

I showed and talked many time about what Eataly is and represents (click HERE and scroll down to get a selection of photos). Then they have just opened the Tokio Eataly store. This man is the Butcher. He loves his job and loves to give many suggestions on way to get best results from meat about La Granda Association.

Ho mostrato e parlato più volte di Eataly (Cliccate QUI e fate scorrere per ottenere una selezione di immagini). Fral'altro è da poco stato aperto Eataly a Tokio. -- Questo signore è il macellaio. Ama il suo lavoro e si prodiga in consigli per far ottenere il meglio dalla carne dell'Associazione La Granda.

Balconies

Some balconies in some refined old buildings, are simply wonderful.

Alcuni balconi in alcune raffinate antiche case, sono semplicemente stupendi.

Protest

40,000 people were going to protest -last Saturday- against a new idea of primary school. Of course Minister of Education is persuaded that people really don't understand her purpose and misunderstand it.

Quarantamila persone andavano radunandosi per protestare -lo scorso sabato- contro la riforma della scuola elementare. Naturalmente il Ministro dell'Istruzione è convinta che la gente non abbia compreso il suo proposito e che la fraintenda.

Caldarroste?

Oh well, when you start to see roast chestnut sellers at the corners of streets, it means that Fall is here --- Happy Week end to everyone !

Orbene, quando si comincia a vedere i venditori di caldarroste agli angoli delle strade, sta a significare che l'Autunno è giunto --- Buon fine settimana a Tutti !

Native Americans in Torino?

They were playing in Piazza Castello. Was peaceful to listen their music --- Thank you to Eliane I learned that right way to call them is "Native Americans" instead of Indians (as we are used in Europe).

Portici di Carta it's a book exhibition under the open sky. So, 120 bookstores under 2Km of Torino's Porticos were selling culture and dreams last weekend -- Don't miss it next year.

Portici di Carta è un'esposizione di libri a cielo aperto. Sicché, 120 librerie sotto 2km di portici in Torino, han venduto cultura e sogni lo scorso fine settimana -- Non perdetelo l'anno prossimo.

There are many streets that are closed to cars in Torino and some of them are very long (like via Garibaldi) but I've ever loved this very short piece of via Mercanti (between via Pietro Micca and via Monte di Pietà) that for some reason remind me to Rome.

Ci sono molte vie chiuse al traffico in Torino e qualcuna anche molto lunga (via Garibaldi) ma mi è sempre piaciuto questo breve tratto di via Mercanti (tra via Pietro Micca e via Monte di Pietà) che per qualche ragione mi rimanda a Roma.
